Birth Boards are strange...
So I was thinking about the birth board I belong to today and to be quite frank I really just hang around for the entertainment value. I mean I've picked up a few tips here & there but most of the time it just feels like women attacking other women for different opinions, stupid subjects, etc. I remember I posted something back in December about my baby being a boy, and what a boy! The picture I have just makes his "package" look big and I made a joke about hubby being happy that he is well hung. That's all it literally was, a joke! But no....I had random women very disgusted about what I said, almost made me out to sound like a perv and "why would I be a happy about him being well hunged?"
Ahhhhhhh.....I don't get people.
I miss the ladies from the TTC groups; they always had a wealth of relative information to share and really kept you in high spirits, then again who would want to be part of TTC group that was anything but helpful & supportive? It's already stressful in the real world trying to make your dreams happen, why add virtual stress to that too.

Oh gawd, the birth boards are terrible! I was only there for a short time, and it was really hard to read the comments. It's so weird getting pregnant, because you feel like you don't want to offend anyone in the TTC groups by "sticking around" but it's just that the birth boards are so damn annoying and full of ignorant people. Blah! Well, just be happy you'll be past all of that soon and onto the mommy boards, where you can learn all kinds of tips and things. I have a feeling things will calm down a little more on those, although there will always be the opinionated know it alls. Maybe there are some cool first time mom boards you could find. :)
ReplyDeleteAH the mommy boards! I haven't even thought of them yet. Thanks Emily! I do hope they are super informative and supportive. I think waiting around to "pop" leaves boredom and chaos to run a muck on birth boards, lol
DeleteI have never been apart of a birth board...but I have been part of TTC board. And I have to say for the most part they are supportive and full of knowledge other times they can get opinionated and start attacking people. Maybe the get the urge to be hurtful since they are behind a computer screen and think its fine to say as they please. Dont stress about it...enjoy ur pregnancy.
ReplyDeleteYes I do remember some of the attacking posts on the TTC boards put it is very small compared to birth boards. I also learned soooo freaking much on the TTC boards too. I give a huge credit to the TTC boards for this little guy. Not just for the info I found, but for the ladies who pulled you out of some of the darkest days that come with the journey. Thank you JoJo!
